Stanley Tigerman

is an American architect born in 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. Tigerman attended MIT, Yale, and the Chicago Institute of Design, and has spent the majority of his career working and teaching in Chicago, including acting as director of the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Architecture. In 1964 Tigerman founded his own firm, and as principal has been responsible for the design of many institutional buildings, including the Illinois Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, the Five Polytechnic Institutes of Bangladesh, and a number of academic and mixed-use projects in the US, Asia and Europe. In 1993, Tigerman partnered with designer Eva Maddox to found


, a practice-based design school where students work with non-profit organizations to develop design solutions that address social and environmental challenges.
