Dana Glaeser founded Slightly Alabama in New York City in 2013. The name for the company comes from Glaeser’s past—being from Decatur and Sheffield, Alabama, where much of his family still lives. As a child, Glaeser moved to Titusville, Florida, a place similar to north Alabama, where he spent much of his childhood. Now based in New York City, Slightly Alabama celebrates the Deep South while bringing an urban sensibility to its products. Slightly Alabama seeks to create products that tell a story, and have a heart and soul to them beyond their basic functions. Each item is made from premium leather and is handcrafted in New York using traditional leather working techniques.
