Douglas Sterling is a storyteller. He is also a professional Bay Area photographer with nearly thirty years experience in architectural, commercial, editorial and digital media photography. Graduating from the New England School of Photography, Douglas choose a camera as a creative way to communicate the narrative he saw in all subjects. Some of his photos capture a moment, others capture a rich esthetic, but all of his images have a true sense of “story” that is thorough and compelling.

He has a passion for architecture. Douglas’ love for architectural design has brought him attention by some of the region’s most prestigious architectural firms and real estate developers. From these relationships, Douglas has produced a technically advanced, creative portfolio of architectural photography that his clients have come to recognize and rely upon for their communications. Many of his images have appeared in magazines, books, brochures, digital media and stock image galleries for a variety of advertising and editorial assignments.

Wine Country living. Douglas lives with his wife and family in the beautiful wine country region of Napa Valley, California, surrounded by acres of historical vineyards and colorful, turn of the century farms. Here he has successfully maintained his photographic business, Douglas Sterling Photography, since 1986. When he’s not shooting, Douglas is an avid fly fisherman, trekker, cattle dog owner, wine aficionado, and of course, storyteller.
