Universal Design: Public Restrooms

My favorite public bathroom is the Hotel Rivington. It's quite the experience. Seriously, that was a really cool video, I can't wait to experience some of those ideas.

Go Outside or carry your own mobile loo! Public restrooms are better for privacy doing other things like putting on make up, changing into party clothes, repacking your bag and making out with strangers

That's Design, it's not an object, just an object....research, environment, sustainable, as a team you are my inspiration! The sink must go outside the bathroom, right? I love Design and I adore Smart Design!!!

I spent two and a half weeks in Japan over the holidays and fell in love with their toilets. The much-talked-about Toto toilets (that are fully outfitted, even in the public restrooms, with seat heaters and a "music" button that turns on a funny water-bubbler sound to mask your toilet sounds) were all they were hyped up to be. The Japanese-style public toilets were also wonderful. Though most tourists shied away from them (since you have to squat to use them), they're great for those wanting to avoid sitting on the public toilet seat. Lots to learn from the Japanese and Toto when it comes to toilets.
