ICFF 2012: Editors' Awards

Emeco collaborated with Phillipe Starck on the Broom chair, a design made from recycled materials that took home the Multiple Production award. -
Lighting company Santa & Cole nabbed the award for—you guessed it—Best Lighting. We saw their BlancoWhite series of LED lights earlier this year during Stockholm Design Week and were thrilled to see it received more attention at ICFF. -
The editors' pick for Best Wallcovering went to Trove. Here's a selection of their new Redux wallpaper, which is PVC-free and made from 31 percent post-consumer recycled material. -
We covered the rebirth of famed mid-century designer Charles Pollock in our June issue and he was presented with the Body of Work award at ICFF. -
The panel of judges awarded Best Material to Mosa. -
And the winner for Best Craftsmanship went to Kaikado (even though their design hasn't changed since 1875!). -
Golran won for Best Carpet and Flooring. In one of their lines, they cut squares of vintage rugs and stitch them together to create a "new" one. -
Shown here is Fritz Hansen's Miniscule chair. Remarkably comfortable and boasting a wonderful leather seam between the gray and orange fabrics, the design won Best Seating. -
Here's a detail shot of the seam. A fresh take on traditional piping and an innovative use of leather! -
The all-female, Brooklyn-based Egg Collective was awarded Best New Booth. -
Here's De La Espada's stunning booth designed by Autoban. The company won Best Furniture. We loved the collection, which included pieces by Autoban, Soren Rose, and Matthew Hilton. -
Cranbrook partnered with Herman Miller to challenge its students to create a line of office furniture, a move that helped garner them the Best School award. -
We visited the launch of the Axor Bouroullec line earlier in design week and loved the playful and practical take on bathroom design. The German company won for Best Kitchen and Bath. -
Best Booth went to AF NY. -
Teixidors's blankets were among our favorite pieces at ICFF. Their texture looks coarse, but they're extremely soft. Best Textiles went to the Spanish company. -
The Tools for Everyday Life micro exhibit won Best Accessories. Shown here is the Rivet series of lamps by David Irwin. -
