Maison & Objet 2010

Last weekend, contributing blogger Scott Newlin attended Maison & Objet, a Parisian fair featuring objects that range from furniture to gifts to home decor. Seemingly bigger and bigger each year, Maison is a precursor to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, and offers the first look at many soon-to-be released designs. Here Newlin shares some of his favorite pieces from the showroom floor.

The French love their young talent, and they dedicated a lot of the fair booths to them. Here, Mathieu Lehanneur's Delicious, Storage Boxes for Tools Galerie are displayed. Inspired by the stamped-metal facades of a New York City hot dog vendor's cart, these brilliantly colored storage boxes are very dynamic. The form is geometric, but the texture gives the objects an incredible amount of depth. is your online home in the modern world.
