In Vienna, a dazzling penthouse by Delugan Meissl has boldly inserted itself between traditional rooftops of the city’s Wieden district like a recently landed alien intruder.

The only thing warm, inviting, and forgivable about this place is the floor. It seems designed for the teaching of OCD. There's hands-on, livable, functional-modern; than there's this, humorous-modern. That bathroom is ridiculous--you know which one.
No, obviously not a warm and fuzzy space; but the insane and utterly unexpected juxtaposition between the classic Old European architecture and this....space creature, made my mind expand...maybe just for a second. But still, how often does that happen in the course of a day? Thanks Dwell.

WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE DOING IN MY PENTHOUSE!!! I WANT YOU ALL OUT. OUT NOW!!! I JUST CAME BACK HOME FROM VIEWING A PENTHOUSE AT ARTECH IN AVENTURA FLORIDA AND I THOUGHT I HAD SEEN IT ALL. THIS JUST BLEW MY MIND IN PIECES
so maybe it's a bit cold but that's why you buy art & wood furniture. Better than designing a house with 19th century technology. Lose the wood floors though

depressing.
while this wouldn't necessarily be somewhere i'd like to live(what happens if you spill some coffee down the edge of that angled counter-top in pic 6? the whole "control panel" for the house goes haywire?), this is definitely something that got me to thinking about some things in a new way, and that's never a bad thing.
Simply....Beautiful.
Some parts are beautiful but it seems to lack a 'soul'.
Okay, the jokes on us!
It looks too modern, complicated and heavy despite its airiness for me to like it as MY home, but it looks amazing. I really love combining steel and woods and glasses.
Probably the most provocative home I've seen on Dwell. Like others here, I am challenged to see things in a new way. I am intrigued. But I just don't know if I could handle Hal 9000 repeatedly asking me if everything is alright while I am in the toilet room or the "relaxation zone."
