• I just finished a nearly 2.5 year stint as a full-time Airstreamer. I was in over 30 states and loved every minute of it. My 1973 Airstream is for sale now--I'll miss it but will almost certainly get another before too long. Great piece and enjoy your Airstreaming life. It's the ultimate way to live.

• Love it! We have a 1978 31' International that we turned into a mobile coffee unit (MCU)...and it's a blast. But now I need another one (you can never be truly satisfied with just one Airstream!) to camp in again. And I agree...those who don't get it...you don't want to work with:). Danny

• I almost agree that an airstream should be free to be on the road. But if it's lived a good life and instead of rotting away in a dump somewhere it can utilized as a nice little dwelling. Nice job.

• It's a wonder why they Producer's don't use AirStreams as actors trailers on film sets, they're way better designed and cooler looking than the crappy ones they use they normally and I'm sure actors would prefer these if they had any sense.

• We have had 4 Airstreams - 28/31 &34Ft. We actually have 2 of the 34ft and one of them for sale. We eventually want to spend our winters in it, but with all three have traveled about 70,000 miles. Airstream is the only kind we have owned or ever will own. You have done wonders with this and it looks beautiful. We have seen many in our travels. Enjoy it, you deserve it after the work you have done with it. Congrats!!

• We are constructing what we believe to be the Worlds' first off the grid solar campground on the west coast in Mexico. We are headed there now with 15 solar panels. After seeing this article I'm inspired to use an Airstream for the Caretaker's quarters and also the Campground Office. I know of only one Vintage Trailer Park that rents nightly called Delray in TX. I am impressed with your choice from a "Green" standpoint, what better way to recylce and reuse? It also shows your willingness and creativity to simplify, focus on what's important and reduce your overhead as a business and home owner. As a Financial Planner working with retiree wannabees I find myself more often than not recommending Mobile living as an alternative for expense and weather benefits, plus what a great way to visit the kids without being in their space? • Speaking as another recently laid-off landscape architect, I admire your resolve to keep at it and adjust your living space accordingly. I think I'd find that trailer to be a very comfortable work space. I've thought about getting an Airstream and leap-froggin around the country, working as needed. I even did a little trailer shopping! But for now, I'm staying put.

• You are one remarkable young man. Of course at my age I have been thinking about hitting the road before I am too old to do it. Don't really want a motor-home, cause when you park it you can't go anywhere, unless you have pulled a car. And gas prices UGG! So I'm gonna look for the smallest Airstream I can find (regardless of it's age) and do some minor restorations on it, making the tiny kitchen area into an office area (mini of yours against the front part of the side wall), with a hinged fold down table top for eating. Put fold down shelves above desk/table for necessary storage. Use it for papers/printer,junk (things I will just lay on the floor in a box when pulling Airstream). And, hit the road! Then I can work where & when I want to, with my notebook, printer (all in one), Skype phone, and Verizon web access. This has been my dream and you and Airstream are helping me to make it come true. • Using an airstream as a home office is such a genius idea. It's a little like the recycled trains they have turned into office spaces at Village Underground in London, but much more practical for home use!
