Lovely. Just might be a little tight when a girlfriend or boyfriend wants to move in!

I just finished a nearly 2.5 year stint as a full-time Airstreamer. I was in over 30 states and loved every minute of it. My 1973 Airstream is for sale now--I'll miss it but will almost certainly get another before too long. Great piece and enjoy your Airstreaming life. It's the ultimate way to live.

We dream of this lifestyle. Love to see people living out my dreams. I was about his height in my dream too.

The Airstream is meant for the road, not to be stuck into a backyard and made into a dwelling. It's a travel trailer, free it!

Love it! We have a 1978 31' International that we turned into a mobile coffee unit (MCU)...and it's a blast. But now I need another one (you can never be truly satisfied with just one Airstream!) to camp in again. And I agree...those who don't get it...you don't want to work with:). Danny

I heard Sean Penn moved into an Airstream after spliting with Maddona. That endears me more to him as a man and as Airstream as an icon.

Love what you did with the travel trailer. It is very nice.

I almost agree that an airstream should be free to be on the road. But if it's lived a good life and instead of rotting away in a dump somewhere it can utilized as a nice little dwelling. Nice job.

it's so trailer.

As far as freeing it, he said he takes it to job sites for the starting phases. How could that be better?

I've got to give credit for creativity, utility, and efficiency--and you couldn't have chosen a better setup location!!

It's a wonder why they Producer's don't use AirStreams as actors trailers on film sets, they're way better designed and cooler looking than the crappy ones they use they normally and I'm sure actors would prefer these if they had any sense.

Free the Airstream! Must cruise the highways and byways! Road trip! Road trip! Road trip! Seriously, great job on restoration. Wondered when someone was going to leave the rivets uncovered. I like how you restored this beauty. Was it for work (curriculum) at Stanford? Just curiously selfish - or selfishly curious. peace!

It always makes me smile to see an old rig saved. Nicely done. It might interest you to know that about 90% of the Airstreams we make today have the interior skin exposed, for all the reasons you note. Welcome to the tribe.

Congrats on your beautiful Airstream. Are you familiar with Steve Badanes, Jim Adamson, or John Ringel? (Jersey Devils) They all also teach design-build courses at Yestermorrow. From their website: "For twenty-five years the members of Jersey Devil have been constructing their own designs while living on site in tents or Airstream trailers, and making adjustments to their structures in response to problems encountered during the building process." www.jerseydevildesignbuild.com

I love it. Especially the desk space. Just fabulous. I've wanted an airstream since childhood and still don't have one, but hubby owns three old buses from which he plans to create one travel trailer for us, complete with an office for me. I can hardly wait!
