purchasing property on the big island hawaii looking to build prefab on same please advise MAHALO
Lots of VOG lately on the big island! (volcanic smog) I like this room very much, but I would want a way to close the room off in case of rain or wind on the days that happens. Not sure if that is part of this design.
I am wondering what that large basin is beneath the deck? Rain water collection?
Yes, it's catchment. Some areas cannot get water from the county in Hawaii due to location or lack of a water meter being available. Water meters are hard to come by on at least some Islands. They may have water, and use the catchment water for landscaping too.
Good deal, thank you thank you.
Barbecue at the Kurokawa-Fishman place! I'll bring the macaroni salad.
i wonder whether building a house in the kipuka would be the safest spot or the riskiest spot, concerning lava flows. its a depression, so i imagine lava would tend to pool, but theyre formed by lava flowing around them, time and again. so my question is this: once a kipuka, always a kipuka, or not?
I am planning on moving to Hawaii sometime next year after my house, and my rent houses sell. What part of the island is the best to live to avoid Vog as you call it, and also be in the safest lava flow zone? I see alot of homes for sale on the internet. Many are in Zone 2. From what I understand that is not good. Please advice. Thanks, David
