I love it!!! What a great clean look. Love the color too.
Not my style--I find most modern homes very sterile and cold.
Real sharp Janet... You find most modern homes "sterile and cold" but yet you browse a modern home site. .....a little confused. (Love the house BTW!)
The house is spectacular but I know the remodel separation story all too well. As soon as I finished my dream home I had to start another.....it becomes an addiction.
I agree with isaiah. If modern homes don't appeal to you, why are you here? i actually hate the looks of old traditional homes. i know there's a certain historic quality to them, but to me, it's like driving the first model car vs a new porsche or ferrari.
Nice pad, but Pergo and travertine.....Yuk!!!
I just don't understand how a Cape Cod with two second-floor bedrooms could have only one window--in a bathroom. Nice that he let his ex stay in the house...
So sorry your marriage fell apart . . was it a result of the remodeling?? The house looks WONDERFUL .. am jealous jealous jealous!!
It's concrete! not travertine
Architecture is not graphic art. It faces the test of time. I wonder if time will be kind here. Also, architecture is about process. Was this process a loving consideration? Is the short term visual stimualtion and ego stroking worth the price?
a few clarifications... There is no pergo flooring in the house...what you may be alluding to is a 6" brazilian cherry on the second floor, and existing white oak on the main level of the existing house. The kitchen and living area is indeed a beautiful creamy colored travertine over a radiant floor. Regarding the windows, there were 2 windows, one in each bedroom at each end of the gable on the previous version of the second floor. There was only one window, the bathroom window, facing the back yard of the house, which is really spacious and filled with trees. And yes, this house was all about process, experimentation, and discovery. It was a long and difficult construction, but was always fueled by passion and love.
Beautiful, great job, love it all.
I love everything about it. We are currently building a modern home - thanks for some great design ideas!
Whos the cutie climbing up that tree?!?!?!?
What an inviting and appealing space to live and create a life in!
