When separating the haves from the have-nots, owners of summer homes tend to reside enviably in the former category. Indeed, a select few seem to have no problem whatsoever turning the word “summer” into a verb—“We summer in the Hamptons.” While it’s easy to dismiss that set, who wouldn’t relish the opportunity to flee urban gridlock for the proverbial house by the lake during the sticky months? — Heather Bradley
