Beer Craft: A Guide to Homebrew
William Bostwick and Jessi Rymill's new book Beer Craft: A Simple Guide to Making Great Beer is like Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything—just for homebrew hobbyists. In the book, the writer-designer duo outlines the basic steps of brewing then give you all the information you need to improvise and make each batch your own. Unlike the homebrew books that have come before, Beer Craft is designed for folks like Bostwick and Rymill: urban DIYers living in small, city apartments. "Most books are written for making five gallons at a time, which is a lot" Bostwick says. "Our book focuses on small, one-gallon batches you can easily make on your stove."

My brother in-law has been crafting an oatmeal stout in his hobby shop for years. You best sit down to drink it and be ready for an evening of relaxing over a night of dancing!
What a great idea! I used to make beer when I lived in a farmhouse in the Hudson Valley with a huge kitchen, now I live in a much smaller apartment with a tiny kitchen in Manhattan...this book's for me.
Thanks for the post! I got it for my Dad for Fathers Day
When I lived in Australia, many of my friends or their Dad's brewed their own beer at home (beer prices are much higher in OZ), So they always had a cold one ready to offer and they could proudly say they made it themselves. It become their hobby. Many people wonder how to homebrew and a lot of people either think that if they home brew their own beer, it will either be expensive, taste Disgusting or, be Really Difficult to Do. But it's not complicated at all, in fact, it's fun and rewarding. Here's a link to get started homebrewing our own beer. http://bars-and-bartending.com/how-to-ho… has all the directions, ingredients and supplies.
