This is an amazing house! I am one of the (adult) children and we LOVE our time on North Haven and particularly at the barn. Dancing on the deck at the full moon, collecting sea glass on the beach, swimming, reading, kayaking, dinners around the big table, cooking in the AGA, ping pong in the garage.....this is a special place for family and friends. The grandkids love the beach, the swing, and all of the above. Many special memories have been made here.

nice high end house, dwell should include the cost of the houses it features. half of the houses are well over the average cost of a home, if not double. a tenthousand dollar stove should be a indication of the cost of this house. this is why modern design has trouble gaining traction it is perceived as elitist. publish houses that are affordable, practical, and efficient. I like the houses the owners worked on,and helped design, any joker with enough cash can hire someone to design and build their trophy home.reminds me of the kid in school who had to have the latest and greatest posessions.

what a funny group of comments. how lucky you are mary! i wish my parents had a house like this - btw they have a great house in an incredible location. whether or not it is elitist and/or unreachable for many does not negate its appeal. with some creativity you can take ideas away from this house and apply them to your home whether it be an expensive one or "home made" one. lighten up and enjoy the view.

Sure looks a lot like houses built by Nova Scotia's McKay Lyons. http://www.mlsarchitects.ca/

It's nice to see a large, modern structure that totally blends into its surroundings.

I happen to know these amazing folks and am in awe to see their true passion come to fruition. This is a dream they made happen over a very well thought out process - one slow step at a time. Since when do you have to be an elitist to obtain your dreams? This home was built on love, passion, wisdom, hard work and patience - pure ingredients for success.

Hi- I'm an architecture student at Pratt Institute and for one of my classes I've been assigned to choose a house to study for the semester, focusing on materials and green standards. I'd amazed with this specific "dwelling" and would love to focus on it for the semester, however I'd need a couple drawings in order to get more detail etc. Could anyone on this blog be able to help me out?! Thanks! I appreciate it You can email me too- jgordon7.pratt@gmail.com
