This custom reclaimed iron Contemporary/Industrial Chandelier puts an artsy new twist on things! It is made of strap iron wrapped into a 36” Metal Hornets Nests that are lit with compact fluorescent s which creates abstract art when illuminated. The fixture is sizable supporting eight iron nests and boasting an impressive 12’ L X 4’ W canopy made of steel yard remnants that also cover electrical components and Junctions boxes. The geometric suspensions are 1”X 1” sq Rectangular Brackets in staggering lengths of 24” to 36” long. They are powder coated in Metallic Silver that feed as well as support the raw and rugged Hornets nest.
The Matching Twisted Steel Balustrade panels are reclaimed 2” iron straps that were left raw, natural, powerful and bold. The charcoal and ruff texture of the mill -scale is an edgy contrast to the clean lines of the 6’ sq. double newel posts with a sleek Contemporary Silver powder coat. The Owner’s ideas paired with Michele Gardiner’s Design Concept, Melded into simply this: Industrial, Jaw Dropping, Contemporary and Affordable!

JUXTAPOSED CONCEPT: AN EARTHY/SLEEK LINE, AN EDGY/ELLIPSE, MASSIVE, HAND CRAFTED, CONTEMPORARY LIGHTING SUSPENDED IN A CUSTOM ANTIQUATED ALDER COFFER CEILING.

The Reclaimed iron came from a steel yard. We used 2x2 steel tubing for the support bar, then latticed strap Iron to the frame and attached the mini lights.
Forging the ellipse required the full might & artistic skill of our Forger & after breaking all the rules we reverently reverted to old world alchemy for the classic textured and bronze patina.
