CR Studio Architects, PC, is committed to creating architecture that gives form to the client's vision, such that it becomes a physical component of the client's beliefs and aspirations. Connecting to a community—be it cultural, civic, corporate or personal—is both the process and its result. Communication is central to the approach as it helps the client understand the implications of decisions. The effect is a compounded return on the investment in design.

CR Studio thrives on collaborative work with clients, artisans, consultants and other professionals. This dialogue is commensurate with the firm's primary interest: to create architecture in the public realm that is enriched by its own specific processes of production, experiential qualities and collaborative relationships.

The firm's work is distinguished by a holistic aesthetic that is appropriate to the client and to the site. Individual projects achieve design excellence within the parameters of real life in real time. Success is a result of the firm's dedication to ongoing experimentation with materials and methods of production.

Launched 11 years ago, CR Studio is a full-service architectural firm with a diverse staff of 12 employees. Our scope of work includes institutional, educational, commercial and residential projects, as well as furniture design and urban planning. The firm has won eight awards from the American Institute of Architects, New York City Chapter, for various projects, including Pier 62: Carousel Building, The Robbins School Competition, The Filmmakers Collaborative, The Leonhardt People Center at the American Museum of Natural History, The Eileen Fisher Showroom, the African Burial Ground Memorial sponsored by New York City's Department of General Services and the Eileen Fisher Store in SoHo.

CR Studio twice has been selected as one of 24 small firms for the Department of Design + Construction’s “Design for Excellence” initiative, and we currently are working on the rehabilitation of Hook and Ladder Company No. 08 in Tribeca—one of the city’s oldest firehouses. CR Studio also has been awarded the design of a new NYC Marine Company No.1 Firehouse with the FDNY and the Hudson River Park Trust. We have pursued two major competitions: the New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Competition, sponsored by the State of New Jersey, and the Robbins Elementary School Competition, which was a joint effort of the City of Trenton, N.J., the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation and the National Endowment for the Arts. In both cases, CR Studio was selected as one of four second-stage finalists from hundreds of entries.

CR Studio is a registered Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council/Women Presidents’ Educational Organization, the city of New York and Empire State Development.
