Concrete: high volume fly ash (HVFA) concrete utilizes a waste product from coal burning
Framing: FSC-certified framing lumber. 6-inch walls and 14-inch ceilings and floors maximize insulation space
Exterior: partial HardiPlank exterior utilizes a waste product
Insulation: blown-in cellulose and cotton batt insulation provides a higher R-value, less embodied energy, and utilizes a waste product
Interior Finish: Madrone hardwood floors milled from greenwaste source. Douglas fir baseboards/trim milled from reclaimed beams. Richlite countertops. Walnut island top milled from greenwaste source. Low-VOC latex paint. 100% wool carpet.
Energy: 95% AFUE gas furnace. Solar hot water heating system.
