What if your bedside table was not sitting on the floor (a magnet for stubbed toes and dust bunnies), but was instead attached to the wall and suspended at pillow level? The Studio Shelf from Denmark's Ferm Living takes a classic pitched-roof shape and creates a little home for your glasses, chapstick, or mug of Ovaltine, keeping them close at hand for late-night fumblings. We also love the idea of resting a book on the gable, as seen in the image below.

Love it! All it needs is a "chimney" that's a small reading lamp.
hmm i'm kind of partial. Where does the lamp go?
cool looking design, love the book shelf that keeps your place! But with the side wall closing off the shelf from the person laying in bed is it awkward to use?
Definitely outside of the box... fresh!Awesome... avid reader in bed....FUNCTION finally!
I think it's smart attaching the bedside "table" to the wall, thereby freeing up the space beneath for use and/or avoiding stubbed toes, etc. But I think the roof-like top is a silly waste of space. I can't see how it would be good for anything other than keeping your place in a book (and even there you come up against limitations: you couldn't use it to save your place if you were just a few pages from the beginning or end, for example). I'd prefer a flat top on which I could set anything to a built-in bookmark.
i love Miyoko's idea of a chimney lamp!
adorable! a sweet take on a bedside vignette, and the scale is priceless. we love a wall mounted nightstand, perfect for small spaces, or to double as a ledge for mail and keys in an entry area.
Luv the chimney light. How about an old fashion cuckoo that darts out "in song" - the wake up call.
€79.95-109.95?! I'd rather build one myself.
cute idea, more in theory than reality - where do you put your alarm clock? You might need a window on the side. I'd go with a wall mount flat roof (rooved?) house instead
I already invented this, except I was too stupid to realize that the top shelf should be pitched like a phony colonial roof, rather than flat like a Mies van der Rohe structure. Now, just imagine this invention, with the top shelf shaped like a _ rather than a /\. I think that two _ shaped shelves is twice as functional merely one. But the lamp should be itself attached to the wall!
Jeff: How about turning it upside down so that the built-in book mark (that only works in the middle of a book!) can instead at least store a single bottle of wine! What a half-baked idea: the pitched shelf!
