It can be tough to find the right place in the home for traditional litter boxes, which can be a little big, a bit untidy (no matter how fastidious your feline), and, well, just not too nice to look at. ModKat made its debut at ICFF this year and the thoughtful design makes a huge difference; The cat enters through the top, which opens up floor space and allows any stray kernals to fall back in as the kitty climbs out, and reusable liners eliminate the need for disosables. This neat new litter box will start shipping in mid-September.

Ah, the problem of how to hide a cat box. As a veterinarian who'd prefer her apartment didn't look like an animal shelter I've been using a top-entry box from CleverCat for a couple of years and (thank goodness) my cats love it. Top entry designs have definite advantages. If I won the mega-bucks I'd buy a ModKat in a heartbeat. In the meantime, CleverCat will do.
You can get a cheaper one for around $20 at Petsmart.It may not look as nice, but it's the same idea.
