The Architecture and Design Museum Los Angeles is pleased to announce the third installment of the summer exhibition series COME IN! The show, les femmes, will feautre 25 women designers, hailing from each of the design disciplines, who have been invited to transform the museum with interactive installations. The entire museum will be open for exploration until September 8th with an opening reception held on July 12th from 6-9 p.m. General admission is $5.
The Architecture + Design Museum > Los Angeles (A+D) is celebrating its tenth year of cutting edge exhibitions and progressive architecture and design programming at its annual fundraiser, this year titled "Celebrate 2011: The Wearable". From 7:00 - 11:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2011, a salon-style runway event at the A+D Museum will feature wearable creations provided by top creative talent from the realms of architecture, fashion, graphic, industrial and the visual arts. Donated pieces will be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting the Museum.
As the water crisis progresses, a new exhibition at the A+D Museum calls designers to action. The 2012 Drylands Design Exhibition will feature work by architects, landscape architects, engineers, and urban designers responding to the challenges of water scarcity in the face of climate change. With a focus on the American West, the exhibition will present a portfolio of adaptive strategies and will explore a range of approaches for how buildings and parks, houses and streets, industry and agriculture, cities and neighborhoods might be adapted to face a drought-prone future. The exhibition's opening reception will be held at the A+D museum in Los Angeles, California and a series of events will follow at locations throughout L.A.
Dwell on Design (DOD), June 21-23, 2013 is America's largest modern design event attracting more than 30,000 attendees during Dwell Design Week in Los Angeles, CA (June 14-23, 2013). The event, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and produced by Dwell magazine, showcases new design ideas, products, and services in conjunction with world-class design speakers, exhibitions, & home tours. More than 400+ national and international exhibitors across all home design categories participate and over 200+ design leaders will present this year including distinguished keynote speaker Michael Graves. Participating organizations include the Getty Conservation Institute, MOCA, A+D Museum, Hammer Museum, & Architecture for Humanity.
