HAY Dot Pillow in Steelcut Trio Fabric

HAY is a Danish design collective established in 2002 by Mette and Rolf Hay, who were driven by a desire to create straightforward, functional and beautiful products for modern living. Drawing from the best of architecture and fashion, the HAY designers’ favorite tools are innovation, technology and color. The Dot Pillow (2009), with a fabric-covered button centered on its front and back, celebrates the tailored look of button tufting found on many classic sofas and chairs. It’s upholstered in Kvadrat’s Steelcut Trio, a wool-rich blended fabric designed by Frans Dijkmeijer and Giulio Ridolfo. Up close, the complex weave of this fabric has the texture of small pyramids, which give it an almost 3-D appearance. From a distance, it appears as one solid color. Made in China.
