Donna Wilson Chocolates

With the Easter holiday coming up we got to thinking about how many great egg-related designs there are out there.

Starting as a dormant, unassumingly giant egg, Romanian designer Vlad Icobet's conceptual product hatches into an elegant, all-in-one cooking facility.

We are, without a doubt, big fans of the work of Scottish-born, London-based Donna Wilson. She made her name in textiles, but has proved to be a whiz with furniture, too; Her collaboration with British brand SCP includes the

Mabel sofa

and her fantastic family of

Frank, Henry, and Ernest pouffes

and now Eadie, an armchair upholstered in Wilson's Nos Da fabric.

 

Robert Ludlow is the mad genius behind Fleurir Chocolates- not mad as in angry, but mad as in wildly creative and remarkably disorganized. After graduating valedictorian with Le Grand Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia, Robert followed his heart to central Virginia to be with his one true love- the most intelligent, beautiful, charming, and charismatic woman in the world, Ashley Hubbard, during her final year in college (it sounds like he wrote it thus far, right?). And after spending a couple of years as a cuisine chef, Robert was ready for better hours and a stable work environment. Consequently, Robert found a job at one of the best artisan chocolate shops in the nation, Gearhart's Fine Chocolates, where he mastered his craft under the guidance of Tim Gearhart. After a peculiar stint in Charleston, SC, Robert and his now almost wife headed to DC (well, we technically live in Arlington... the dogs need a backyard) to make the finest gosh darn artisan chocolates not only in DC, but in THE WORLD!
