Video: Toyota Debuts Experimental i-Road Vehicle

Not quite a car and something more than a motorcycle, the Toyota i-Road "Personal Mobility Vehicle" (PMV) recently debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Check out this video to see how the i-Road nimbly slaloms through crowded streets.

Urban denizens looking for space-saving electric transportation will dig this concept auto from the makers of Prius. i-Road is little more than half the width of a Smartcar, and seats two in tandem. The all-electric, fully enclosed, front-wheel-drive PMV boasts zero emissions and a lithiom ion battery charging time of about three hours (alas, a range of just 30 miles). But it's the computer- and gyroscope-aided "self righting" steering that will turn your head—and not just because the i-Road can turn on the proverbial dime. Watch the video to see how even the sharpest cut down a cobbled street is done with smooth precision.
