Stella Hackett

Stella Hackett recently completed an MA in Arts Administration at Goucher College in her ongoing quest to contribute to the development and management of Barbados' cultural landscape. She also holds a BFA in Textiles Design from Rhode Island School of Design, and has exhibited in six local and four international exhibitions. Currently, she is a Design Adviser at the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation.

Spindle Stool

The Spindle stool—made from Andiroba wood—was turned on a lathe traditionally used for making lamps in Barbados. Part of Love, Freedom, Flow, the debut collection from the New Caribbean Design initiative pairs indigenous designers and craft manufacturers to support and modernize the artisan trade.
