Design Miami and Art.sy: Partners in Design
It’s that time of year again, and we don’t mean mistletoe and merriment. We’re referring to Design Miami, the annual fair that gathers together a global network of influential galleries, curators, designers, collectors, and critics to celebrate collectible design of the past century. And 2012 is bound to be an exceptional event. What makes this year especially noteworthy is the collaboration between Design Miami and the online creative haven of contemporary art, known as Art.sy. The result is an interactive, up-close-and-personal experience of the design fair, available to anyone with an Internet connection.

Live/Work Design Contest WInner
Dwell and Design Within Reach (DWR) proudly announced the winner of their Live/Work Design Contest at the 7th Annual Dwell on Design in Los Angeles. Out of 587 submissions, five finalists were announced earlier in June, and ultimately, Dwell and DWR editors named Amanda Ip's Innermix Desk the best solution to their home-office challenge.
Rapson Rockers: A Classic is Reborn
What has been dubbed the "Rapson Revival" began with the reintroduction of Ralph Rapson’s mid-century modern Rapid Rocker. First manufactured in the 1940s by Knoll, the classic chair had been out of production for 60 years when Rapson Inc. made it available again at the end of 2011. Rapson’s design aesthetic focused on craftsmanship, natural materials, and the human form. The cantilevered arms of his Rapid Rocker have been copied time and again, but this now-iconic design set the precedent.
