José Antonio Gurrola

Gurrola is an industrial designer graduated from the Mexico City campus of ITESM University, with studies in furniture design at Danmarks Designskole and studies in ceramics at the UNAM in Mexico City. Antonio’s interest in furniture design as a way of experimentation and commucation has led him to collaborate for several firms of furniture and interior design in Mexico City.

From 2007 to the present Antonio has been working for the design collective NEL -a group of Mexican designers focused on the experimental and playful side of design– coordinating projects and exhibitions such as Ciudad Satélite during the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2008. He regularly writes about design for the Mexican architecture and design magazine Arquine and continues to explore furniture design independently through personal projects.
