Finnish designer Harri Koskiken (1970– ) rose to prominence in the mid-nineties with his award-winning Block Lamp, an industrial lighting piece consisting of a lone light bulb encased within twin acrylic bricks. His Cosy lamp for Muuto and bent-plywood Fatty containers are but two standouts of the past decade.

Cozy in Grey

Cozy in Grey, by Finnish designer Harri Koskinen, plays with the look of light through the "beauty and changing reflections" of glass, which is mouthblown with a textile cord (also comes in a milky white to set the mood). Muuto's growing collection brings modern Scandinavian design to the fore, introducing a range of work—lighting, furniture, and accessories—by new Nordic talents.

Jalusta Cake Stand

Cakes will come and cakes will go, but when it's time for a slice (or two), we're all for putting the sweet stuff up on a pedestal. Finnish designer Harri Koskinen created this glass stand for Finnish housewares brand Iittala as part of the new Art Works collection.

Sofabed

Following in the Finnish tradition of minimal designs and even fewer words, Harri Koskinen’s new sofa bed is simply named “Sofabed.” It’s a versatile three-seater that works well whether you’re lounging in the afternoon or lying down for the night. Wide arms have ample space to balance a few cans of Karhu, and the firm back folds down into a double bed or lifts off completely.
