German Robert Weintraud founded the company 'Weintraud & Co" and registered the brand 'Rowenta' in 1909. At this time, the brand was selling products, which had little in common with those of today (writing implements, smokers' accessories, toiletries).
As we enter the third millennium, Rowenta has re-stated it's identity with a new logo and new products devised by world famous designers, putting intelligence and beauty into vacuum cleaners, irons, steam generators, ovens, kettles, coffee machines, espressos and toasters.
