Dustpan and Brush
Inspiration can strike at any time. For Ole Jensen, it happened while using a folded newspaper to clean up a mess in his studio. After realizing its usefulness, he substituted his morning read with a thin sheet of poly-propylene, which collects even the most minute grains of dust and grime, and a natural-bristle beechwood brush. When you’re done cleaning up, simply slide the brush handle through the grommet of the minimalist pan and hang it for easy storage. $25

Camping Chair
The cartoon simplicity of these camping chairs belies the craftsmanship that went into their molded and laminated beech-wood construction. Unlike the activity from which they take their name, we recommend keeping these indoors. $3,500

Heima Candlestick
Dimming the bright overheads and lighting a few candles at the dinner table is a sure way to take the edge off of a harried day. The understated shape of designer Francis Cayouette's cast iron centerpiece will allow the four wax flames you choose truly shine, and you'll be relaxed before you have to blow them out and go to bed. Heima is available in the US from Zinc Details. $67.00

58° Salt and Pepper Shakers
These porcelain and cork salt and pepper shakers were named for the latitude where Denmark meets Norway, but designed for the dining table at the intersection of mashed potatoes and green beans. We like the unfussy shape, nice contrast of textures, and—best of all—very clear distinction between with spice is which. Available for purchase from Velocity Art and Design. $44.00

Mormor Dishware
Evoking the spirit of a classic kitchen with a pattern inspired by culinary textiles, Mormor consists of a series of ceramic plates, bowls, cups, buttering boards, eggcups, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, and a decanter. The pieces are available in blue and an all-white ribbed pattern. $17.75-278.33
