Discover this year’s lexon collection as an invitation to play! In spite of the context, or precisely because it is so, play may actually happen to be the utterly adequate attitude.

In the most rigourous way : there couldn’t be any play outside of precise rules and a certain level of collaboration. This could be read as the frame of the relationships taking place between lexon and its clients for almost 20 years now.

A play translated in the act of giving and the useful quality of the object offered. A play which is, at first, expressed by each of the items showed here : an echo of the minds that focused on their shape and functions, questionning materia, looking for the astute of the ingenier and technician’s wit. An object which testifies of an adventurous and smart mind, always lead by enthusiasm.

From this point of view, the experiment set with Ecole Bleue, a Parisian design school, stands as an evidence. Lexon has always shown it lays great stress on the brightness of solutions proposed, qualities standing before the level of fame of its designers, constantly mixing different generations in its collections.

By kaunching this design school partnership, lexon has been looking for fresh excitement, taking risks and making bets. Outside of 70 proposals short listed, 7 projects got eventually selected. They show the abilities and fantasy of a new generation. They testify of lexon’s will to be optimistic, daring and passionate.

These objects are presents, and, obviously, they show a future. Design, here considered on multiple levels as a gift, the gift becoming a possible definition of the very nature of the discipline, and a major goal to lexon.

Tykho Radio

Way back in 1997—before iPods were invented, after boomboxes were a little out of style—Marc Berthier designed the Tykho radio for French brand Lexon, and the colorful silicone-covered audio box still holds up. Waterproof, with just a few intuituve buttons to maneuver, it works with soapy hands the shower, foody fingers in the kitchen, at a picnic, on the road, or anywhere you choose to tote it along for some fresh am/fm tunes.
