De La Espada

De La Espada sees itself as a leading exponent of contemporary craft, with a strong focus on solid wood without ignoring other materials that require the passion of a craftsman or craftswoman. We work with leading designers such as Matthew Hilton, vibrant younger talents such as the Autoban design office from Istanbul, and promote new talent by working with designers from around the world who are starting their career. All of them share a passion for product, where substance triumphs over style, without forgetting the importance of modern design to create products that are useful and which permit the user to connect at an emotional level.

012 Bedside Table

Manufactured from single planks of American oak or walnut, this bedside table sports a single drawer with hidden metal runners on the underside with a sprung “pull back” action. It can be finished with Danish oil or white oil. It's delivered fully assembled.

Gabion Table

We've long been fans of gabions—those rock filled cages usually used for civil engineering purposes. They've made their way into high-design buildings (thanks, Herzog + de Meuron) and now they've become part of furniture design thanks to Britain's Benjamin Hubert. He introduced this table—which boasts an ash top and granite ballast to keep it stable—at the 2011 London Design Festival, and it couldn't have come a moment sooner.

Hepburn Sofa

We’re guessing this new modular sofa is named after an actress and not the town in Saskatchewan. Our assertion is further verified by the elegant and unusual X-patterned seams that crisscross the upholstery like an Oscar-worthy evening gown and the solid wood legs that elevate this seat like a pair of Salvatore Ferragamos.

Lin Chair

Leif.designpark's Lin chair represents another stellar collaboration between the Japanese design studio and De La Espada. Choose between sturdy wood frames of black oak or American white walnut and cotton or wool upholstery to match your color scheme, and we can definitely see this piece becoming the best seat in the house.

Spider Lamp

It's a fixture that's more A.I. than Archnophobia. Large shadows cast by the Spider's colored bulb and stainless steel "legs" are dramatic but—fear not—quite harmless.

Tulip Lamp

Istanbul-based design duo Seyhan Özdemir and Sefer Çağlar of Autoban took a page from Warren Platner's book for this chic gold-plated steel lamp. We love the taper of this lamp's stem, which comes in three sizes.
