Note to Dwell: That building is not in Oklahoma City, it's in Tulsa, along with the rest of ORU, unfortunately.
Hi Calder. Thanks for paying such close attention! But http://www.oklahomamodernblog.com features modern properties from all over the Sooner State, not just Oklahoma City.
In Southern California, I am a trusted appraiser with 20 years experience, having assisted dozens of homeowners, realtors, and architects, with their valuation needs, purchases, refis, trusts, historical and architectural valuations. I am pleased to have worked with George Penner, Brian Linder, Stefanos Polyzoides, Leo Marmol, and many others. I have also served as consultant with clients from Chicago, Texas, San Diego, and even Puerto Rico. Recent projects include designs by Gregory Ain, Rudolf Schindler, Rafael Soriano, Joseph Eichler, and A Quincy Jones.
Denver/Boulder's only exclusive buyers agent specializing in locating historic modern architecture (and have been for the past 7 years)... http://www.5280mod.com
Good resource but I was disappointed not to see moderntulsa.net on your list. They have a large group of enthusiasts in the Tulsa area and have even had organized home tours, events, etc. Some good resources on the site including photos, map and an active blog. Just a thought!
Thanks for the comments, everyone! We are happy to add new mid-century modern realtors and websites. Keep them coming!
Wow, has Dwell gotten out of touch! Two of the most important modernist realtors and RE websites in the U.S. aren't even mentioned????? www.360modern.com and www.seattlemodern.com. These sites have been the leaders in modernist RE since the beginning - in the 1990s. I did an interview with Dwell's writer David Proffitt for the September 2005 edition called, "Real Estate 101 - Realtors Who Choose Modernism over McMansions", that dealt with the modern specialist in the market. A number of the other realtors mentioned in that article and on this current list are folks my good friend, Tom Holst and I introduced Dwell to. For goodness sakes do your due diligence, I have clients asking me why we aren't on this list and I have to tell them that perhaps they are looking at the wrong publication for such resources. Richard Corff, real esate agent Founder 360 Modern www.360modern.com
There is another website of modernism in our area, the Pacific NW that was missed, www.360modern.com. We found our home through this site and I look at their postings often. They are a great resource and help to support modernism and modern tours in our area. I especially appreciate their updates on happenings in our area that they send out often. Keeps me in tuned with modern openings, houses, sales, etc. You should include them on your list.
Please consider adding 360 Modern to your resource list for the Seattle area (www.360modern.com) 360 Modern is widely considered to be THE go-to website for modern-architecture real estate in the greater Seattle area. We currently have 14 Authorized Agents who continually monitor the modern inventory, and keep our content up-to-the-moment. Our knowledge of the local neighborhoods, combined with our specialized knowledge in historically-significant modernist architects from the mid-century---as well as our connection to the cutting-edge architects of today---make us an invaluable resource to anyone considering buying or selling a modern home in the Puget Sound region. Heidi Ward Managing Partner, 360 Modern
Nice article however you missed the largest modern-minded websites in the entire San Francisco Bay Area that have received significant national and international recognition. Check out: www.MarinModern.com, www.SanFranciscoModern.com and www.EichlerForSale.com. Thanks!
Richard, you and 360 Modern are not as important as you think you are. Your self-serving interests and dismissal of everyone else are why you are left out of so many other lists, too. And Marin Modern was probably left out intentionally.
Hi. Is anyone aware of real estate companies or agencies in and around Boston that specialize in modern architecture?
I am excited to announce the launch of "Jet City Modern" this week. JCM is a real estate website dedicated to buying and selling mid-century & modern homes in Seattle and surrounding areas. I am realtor with The Cascade Team based in Seattle WA. Content on the site is updated daily with an IDX feed from the NWMLS. Check out our featured property previews and create custom searches. No you can have the best of both worlds - the services of a realtor that specializes in mid-century and modern properties AND an a commission structure that will save you thousands. I offer full listing services for only 1% and a buyer bonus program. Be sure to check the promotions page for exciting offers with Velocity Art and Design.
I am a Realtor in Austin, TX specializing in modern architecture. My website is here: http://inspiredaustin.com. You should also include http://www.modernaustin.com/ which focuses on MCM homes and architects in Central Texas. Thanks!
Certainly the omission of www.360modern.com as a resource was an oversight by the editorial board at Dwell. As the premiere real estate consortium specializing in modern/contemporary architecture in the Seattle area, 360Modern agents combine region-specific knowledge of local neighborhoods, a comprehensive understanding of mid-century and contemporary architecture, and the professionalism only found with full-service brokerages. It's no wonder that the Seattle community recognizes 360Modern as The Source for Modern Real Estate even if Dwell hasn't - yet.
I am a Realtor in Dallas, TX specializing in Mid-century Modern and Modern homes in the Dallas area. You should add www.midcenturymoderndallashomes.com which focus on modern homes for sale in the Dallas area and local Modernist Architects. I have been buying your magazine for years and just purchased a subscription. Great publication!
I would like to see www.360modern.com listed as a resource as well. We looked everywhere for someone to sell our modern townhomes, and we only found out about www.360modern.com after we fired an agent that had no clue what Modern was. Their agent did me well.
Thanks so much for the comments, everyone. We agree that www.360moderncom should be included in our list—we added it a few days ago.
why is this not clickable by region. so lame
Thank you Dwell for compiling this resource. Please consider adding www.SoCalModern.com to your collection of MCM Realtors. SoCal Modern fills the real estate gap for modern architecture between Los Angeles and San Diego. It is our passion and mission to identify modern architecture in all price ranges from the Palos Verdes Peninsula to San Clemente.
deasy/penner&partners is an architectural and estate real estate firm--with over 75 agents representing design-centric properties throughout Southern California. deasy/penner Senior Partner Brian Linder's site TVOA is an excellent resource. Also see www.homeasart.com, deasy/penner's website.
Nice article on Modern Real Estate! I was interviewed several times for the article but didn't make it in the article but enjoyed talking with the writer. I am the only realtor in NC that specializes in mid-century modern and architecturally unique properties of which there are a surprsing number! I work mainly in the Charlotte area but help clients in other parts of the state as well. My site is in the magazine but not here. I sure would love to be listed among your modern realtor resources. www.ModernCharlotte.com Thanks! Gail Jodon

I am looking for real estate agencies specializing in listing modern homes on the east coast. we have built awsom contemporary and "green' cabin in Vermont (Stratton Mountain area) and have trouble founding agency that targets people looking for that type of design. Please help.
And Modern Sarasota http://modernsarasota.com/ is great in Florida. She's had some fantastic MCM properties come up in the last few years.
How quickly they forget! I too was one mentioned in the Realtors who choose modernism over mcmansions. One of the areas I specialize in, Glenbrook Valley, was just mentioned on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's jetmodern blog. It was just awarded "Best Hidden Neighborhood" by the Houston Press. I also serve other mid-century neighborhoods and I am listed as the real estate contact on the Houston Mod site you did list. Looking at the comments on here it seems like your resource list is more than a little incomplete.
This just made my day much brighter. Thanks a lot. Something else I across was this http://www.m1properties.com/.Take a look!
Hi. I've kept a slew of architectural real estate sites, domestically as well as internationally on my website for several years. I could never find a source that had it all in one place so I started my own. It also has some great links to interesting architects and residential architecture, as well as idyllic vacation retreats around the globe. You can check it all out here: http://web.mac.com/charlesdwolford/wolford.us/links.html
I would also love to see more on the east coast, especially Boston. There are some modern communities in Lexington, Six Moon Hill and Five Fields, as well as the Gropius house in Lincoln. Boston might be colonial and stuffy compared to CA and FL, but it should still be included on the list.
Since this article didn't list anything for MA, I went and looked myself. The Friends of Modern Architecture in Lincoln, MA have a site with local modern real estate listings. http://fomalincoln.org/
I am a realtor and designer. I have a website called www.modernasheville.com . I specialize in featuring homes and designers in the Western North Carolina mountains. Fun stuff going on here! Thank you, Troy Winterrowd www.modernasheville.com
hi all, Please consider adding my site, which offers a brief history of modernism in the Boston area, specifically the western suburbs mentioned in a few posts above. I also keep a more up-to-date dynamic blog about the subject and related, at http://modernmass.blogspot.com/ In addition to being a fan of the style, I am a real estate agent that specializes in it. Thanks -- Bill Janovitz
hi again, Sorry, I thought my other site would show, since I had entered it in a data field. But it is http://modernmass.com/ Thanks -- Bill Janovitz
Just wanted to make another suggestion for www.MarinModern.com & www.SanFranciscoModern.com. We've been widely recognized as the go-to resource for modern & mid-century modern residential architecture in both San Francisco & Marin County. More than eye-candy, the sites provides town-by-town (and neighborhood by neighborhood) overview of modernist architecture and is updated frequently. Cheers.
check it out! great austin mcm resource
Here's my updated links site mentioned earlier with all sorts of architectural real estate sites domestically and internationally. Also some great links vacation retreats I keep track of. Enjoy. http://web.mac.com/charlesdwolford/charleswolford.com/links_rev..html

We also have a complete Charlotte Modern Home Search on our Modern Home Blog www.ModernHomesCharlotte.com . Subscribe to our feed If you want to see what is going on in Charlotte, NC modern scene. Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that.
What about adding Bauhaus Real Estate? We're licensed in Washington and Arizona.
As one of the founding members of Modern Tulsa, I can assure you that www.oklahomamodernblog.com (rex brown) lives in Tulsa not Oklahoma City. Rex works with Modern Tulsa on our events as well. I guess what I am saying is that www.oklahomamodernblog.com should say Tulsa, Oklahoma, not Oklahoma City. shane hood www.moderntulsa.net www.tulsaarchitecture.com www.lortondale.blogspot.com www.teperahood.com
At www.sandiegomodern.com you can find modern homes in numerous different cities in San Diego. The website is updated daily!
Interesting comment from Savvy Real Estate above. I have to agree that while Gail Jodon was with Savvy, they did sell more modern homes than any firm in Charlotte. However, Gail was responsible for most of the sales, since she was the only agent that specialized in modern. As of January, 2010, Gail Jodon is no longer associated with Savvy and has started her own specialty firm. Modern Charlotte Realty. Her site is listed above, on the map, www.moderncharlotte.com. Beware of posers. There is only one firm devoted specifically to modern in Charlotte, NC
Id like my modest site www.tampabaymodernhomes.com to be added as well. I have driving tours available and photo tours of some of the great mid-century modern homes in the Tampa Bay area. I also work with buyers and sellers of MCM homes as well... Here is a current listing www.tinlyurl.com/sevenpines
Trimoca is a great mid-century and modern real estate site for the New York/ New Jersey area. Should definitely be on this list.
I think you are missing some sites like, http://rooftopinvestment.com and http://rockypointrentalsonline.com
It look like North Shore of Chicago is no more. Any other suggestions for the north suburban Chicago area? We have a 1959 split level beauty we need to sell, one owner, original fixtures and in fantastic condition. Help!
In the Chicago area - please add www.ModernChicagoHomes.com
Used this agent and he is fantastic. I didn't buy, but his knowledge is excellent.
Vancouver, BC is home to a wide array of important mid-century modern homes. The Westcoast Style developed in part due to the influence of the International Style and the work of local design firms such as Sharp, Thompson, Berwick and Pratt. Some of the best known names in Vancouver Mid-Century design include: Arthur Erickson, Ron Thom, Ned Pratt, Fred T. Hollingsworth, Barry Downs, Blair McDonald, Duncan McNabb, C.B.K. Van Norman, Peter Thornton, Roy Jessiman, Donald Manning, Harold Semmens and Douglas Simpson. Artist BC Binning was a close personal friend of Richard Neutra and hosted gatherings when Neutra visited at his home in West Vancouver for local architects who were greatly influenced by the work of Neutra and Schindler.
