Prefabs merit serious consideration these days, but physically building your own home from the ground up is undoubtedly more gratifying. Barcelona-based nonprofit Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia takes the concept of prefab to a whole new level—introducing an innovative competition to develop "self-fab" homes (DIY self-sufficient housing). The call for submissions is worldwide, so all you DIY home-builders should hit the drawing board. The deadline for entries is September 17. Good luck Dwellers!
