Dwell on Design: Modernist Prefab Homes

Remember when you heard the word "prefab" and automatically thought of your grandparents' mobile home? Well, we've come a long way (baby). Now, prefab is more likely to summon up thoughts and images of contemporary design. Affordability. Efficiency. Sustainability. And that's why we went to Dwell on Design.

It was good, and energizing, and exciting to see so many other people enthusiastic about the same things. But when we sat down to write about some of the modernist prefab homes featured at the event, we realized that in most cases we only saw blueprints, digital renderings, and photos.
