This home was a full blown remodel of a 50's ranch. With few modern homes on the market, we felt the best way to get a modern home was to build our own. The lot has great views of Mt. Tam that were wasted with the old structure of low ceilings and a lack of windows. We took the house down to the subfloor and rebuilt with an emphasis on bringing light and the Marin county landscape into the home, and opening the house to the outdoors to create an indoor/outdoor space that feels larger than its 2700 sq. ft. The design work was done by myself and my wife (she did the interior layout and I did the exterior and volume) with our design build GC.
