Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center & Railton Place
Located on the outer edge of a potential historic district, this project honors the basic composition of neighboring buildings by including a colonnaded base, mid-section, attic floor and roof cornice, all of masonry. However, the design’s true indent is to create a vibrant home for its residents: former foster children. Funded by the Kroc Foundation, this development offers housing and support services for residents, as well as a neighborhood community center that features a gymnasium, swimming pool, chapel, art studio, fitness and dance studio, climbing wall and more.
