Triple Gables is a small, modern home in Union Pier, Michigan located near the shores of Lake Michigan. The home is 972 sq ft and features a living volume, breezeway courtyard, and a single car garage. The focal point of the home is a slatted cedar breezeway with a fireplace where guests enter. The living volume and garage are clad in black (anthracite grey) Hardie siding. Construction is slab on grade and has concrete floors with radiant heat. The home is two bedroom, one bath with an open living, dining, kitchen area that opens to the breezeway. Custom wall of black cabinets with birch inset for kitchen and media areas creates zones in the living area. Triple Gables is a weekend retreat (90 minutes from Chicago) that can eventually be full time residence. Owner: Dave Widmer, Architect: Scott Delano, Builder; Meiste Homes.
