The 3-storey of small home-studio for an architectural firm, TOUCH Architect had been divided into three parts, which are; office space, private house, and co-sharing space.

An indoor office area on the first floor is a working space for all employees. Since it is a compact area, there is no enough space for any architectural models and paper-works storage, and any of shelves cannot be installed along the wall behind working chairs. In order to increase the storage space, an existing ceiling has been removed to have more space vertically. However, after removing, there is a lot of messy electrical wires and plumbing pipes instead of clear space. ‘PIPE-LINE STORAGE’ was created in order to merge real electrical pipes together with a storage.

At front semi-outdoor area was created for mainly proposed as ‘A SPACE FOR MATERIAL CHOOSING’. Transparent roofing is needed, since it allows natural sunlight to display the real materials’ colour and texture. For the shape and size of this room, since it has only 2.40 meters width, creating 3 sides of solid wall together with a square void in front, in order to allow privacy while allows people inside seeing outside. The 3-side of wall are cladding with full-height of mirror to create an illusion of wideness, together with creating triple copy of materials. This area will also be used as an informal meeting or an outdoor relaxing area.

On the second floor, there is a co-sharing space, with multi-functions. It combines office functions with home. There is a tiny office space for founders which can be connected to a centre space by sliding the glass partition to open it. Skylight roof from the 3rd floor connects with an open-void to this middle area on the second floor, to allow natural sunlight during daytime. This space will be used as a conference room, library, dining, and other activities, since it connects to all over the space including vertical space to the top floor.

Sanctuary space is located at the top floor of this home-studio. It was laid across the circulation path between staircase and corridor, which is the main route to a private zone. An initial conceptual design derived from its core value of Buddhism which does not have any specific characters for sanctuary area, while performing as our reminder in everyday routine. It becomes unfamiliar form, but all functions are fit. An elevated gridline of wood not only dividing each classes of sacred thing, but also duplicate the staircase into an above sanctuary space, which allows us to clearly see from underneath while walking up to the third floor, and/ or seeing from a normal view.
