The Devil is in the Details - Designer Sabrina Alfin Remodels a Trio of Bathrooms

Designer Sabrina Alfin recently completed an extensive remodel of three bathrooms in a San Francisco Marina District home built in the 1920’s. The goal was to update the spaces in keeping architecturally with the rest of the home.
One apartment, three small bathrooms and a big vision all added up to a challenge. Stylistically, Alfin went for a “wine country modern” aesthetic with fully custom cabinets. She wanted these spaces to straddle the line between Wine Country, California and Old New York. The more formal-looking primary bath uses mosaic hexagon marble tiles in a swirly, turn of the 20th Century Deco pattern, and faucets that evoke the faceted face of the Chrysler building. She paired this classic look with simple lines for the vanity, using warmer oak you might see in a vineyard tasting room. The nod to the classics fits the architecture of the home, since it was built in the heyday of Art Deco.
