Architect J. Edward Esmay designed and built this Borrego Springs, CA modern desert house in 1970. It had various owners and renovations through the years until it was purchased by Christine Tate in 2007. She then started on a meticulous restoration and renovation of the dated house and property, doing all the of the design work and much of the detail work herself. Her intention was to stay true to the original concept of the house and let the clean lines be the focal point. The renovations highlight the existing features of the house such as the original terrazzo showers, metal kitchen cabinetry, and post and beam ceiling. The restored desert landscape provides a fresh outlook that compliments the expansive desert mountains and sky and also gives an intimate feeling with desert plants, pool and patios.
