The home was originally built in 1920 and used as a sheep barn until it was renovated in the 1950's into a single family home. I grew up in the home (70's-90's) when it was a 1 bed, 1 bath home to my parents and 3 siblings (that's right, 6 people in a 1/1 !!!). After my parents passed away in the early 2000's, my siblings and I inherited the property. I decided to purchase the property and made the home my primary residence. In 2008/2009: I gutted the home, rebuilt it and added a 300sf addition. I rented the property out between 2010 and 2017. In 2017, I added a 3bed/2ba addition with a 2 car garage and mudroom. We endeavored to have the theme be "an old barn meets a new barn". I utilized lifelong relationships for financing, arch design (for permit), construction and sourcing of materials (it's a great homegrown story). I worked as a skilled laborer for a local GC all during HS and college and was able to refinish several aspects of the original architecture. I currently work for a demolition business and have been very resourceful in repurposing many materials such as old wood beams, soapstone, landscaping...just to name a few.
