A house that exceeds the average size automatically creates a whole new set of standards regarding the spaces included.
It is important to create what one might call a “microenvironment” for the users, where areas of rest, study and recreation coexist. Due to its location, this contemporary house also needs to establish its identity and privacy.

The identity of the house was created through the design of perforated metal panels that dominate on the facade of the building and on the property wall. These panels can move and change position along a metal drive. They are multifunctional, as they allow for optical isolation or exposure (depending on their position) and the control of natural sunlight and shade (due to the E-SE orientation of the house). Thus, these panels provoke a type of playful dialogue with the environment.

The house unfolds on four levels, as the spaces turn from public to private from floor to floor. In the basement there is a parking space and a recreation room and on the ground floor, the living room, kitchen and swimming pool are located. The first floor accommodates the bedrooms and the top floor hosts areas for study and rest in a specially designed space with its own roof garden.

The staircase, elevator and bridges divide up the floor plan on all levels, creating smaller units, thereby separating, for example, the children’s bedrooms from the master suite. The atrium plays an important role in connecting all levels vertically while also ensuring the presence of natural sunlight, regardless of the orientation or the weather conditions.
