The program for this 2,800 sq. ft. house was developed as a second home for a Chicago couple. The clients’ love of natural light resulted in a courtyard with all the rooms organized around its perimeter, allowing light and access to each. As a "carpenter built" contemporary cottage, the home offers the warmth of wood, the beauty of Arts and Crafts detailing and the simplicity of the modern planning of this densely wooded site on Lake Michigan.
