New York architect Harrie T. Lindeberg, famous for his “country houses,” and his protege John F. Staub, designed this English Georgian style home situated in picturesque Shadyside. Originally built for David D. Peden, president of the Peden Iron and Steel Company, the largest hardware and supply house in the Southwest. Today, this meticulously preserved home, is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places.

The gated neighborhood of Shadyside is comprised of a select 17 homes adjacent Hermann Park. The 38-acre residential neighborhood was developed between 1916 and 1919 by J.S. Cullinan, the founder of Texaco. Shadyside is most significant architecturally for the four houses designed by Harrie T. Lindberg. The D.D. Peden house at 2 Longfellow Lane, situated to the right of the Main Boulevard entrance gate, is the Lindeberg house most clearly visible from Main.

This beautiful maintained estate sits on just under 2 acres of impeccably groomed landscaping with numerous ageless oak trees that create a private oasis with close proximity to all that Houston has to offer. It is currently on the market for $12.2 million, exclusively represented by Marc Ziegler of Douglas Elliman.
