Location

front of glory at twilight. we have designed and are building the property you see next door, known as sunshine. construction still going on, will complete sometime spring 2021

kitchen table -- former cutting table in upholstery shop in france, markings in meters are drawn onto table -- chairs mid century italian - all vintage.

game room on main floor - light over window is carnival salvage, was originally vertical in center of old merry go round - coffee table custom made from vintage shipping pallet

master bedroom - end table is vintage school desk, dressers vintage - exposed beams and stainless ductwork give place 'coastal industrial' feel --

master bathroom -- towel racks vintage brass boat cleats, custom cabinets from big ship salvage

reading nook - known as 'cove' - chandelier vintage etsy -

view from upper deck - teak furniture barlow tyrie, cotton hammock, etsy

stair tower -- pink railing base is vintage, found at brimfield - screened door shows access to storage closet beneath stairs, known as 'dog house'

bedroom -- vintage lumber on headboard wall -- vintage big ship salvage lighting serves as sconces, no beds have headboards, beds are custom built w/vintage lumber, pull out drawers on either side reduces need for excess furniture in rooms -

interior entry -- all pieces found/vintage

part of game room - white ping pong table from abc carpet and home -- lit photo on right is my grandparents, who had a beach house in florida, called 'had'er'way' (had her way) meaning, my poppy didn't want my granny to buy one, but she did, thus the name. rules of mom folk art at left found at gallery in rockport, mass

bedroom - whitewashed poplar serve as 'headboard wall' - macrame made by one of my daughters - (we have 4)

this is our beloved family home that we designed in the outer banks of north carolina. we wanted to create a destination for our children and grandchildren to enjoy for the rest of their lives - we live in richmond, va, and glory is our 2nd home, a three hour drive door to door. when my father died 6 yrs ago, his obituary said, jerry has gone to glory. so i wanted to name the house glory, so everyone in our family would then be able to say, we're going to glory too. but i also wanted to reference the flag, known as glory, and give a spirited vibe to the house, thus the red white and blue, i wanted it to look and feel like main street on the beach. the house is a combination of old and new, my husband and i have traveled to large vintage markets throughout the us to pull pieces together for this project, much of which has been built into house --
