After a full-blown renovation on the interior of this 6,000 Square Foot home in Southern California (Coto de Caza to be exact) we were enlisted to design and renovate the entire exterior space of this nearly 1 acre lot. That included creating a brand-new Pool, Sundeck, Hardscaping, Landscaping and 1200 Square Foot Entertainer's Pavilion. The home is traditional in structure and subtle details but has been completely designed to emphasize clean lines and is the ultimate example of a modern indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Details seamlessly flow from inside to out in order to maintain a connection between the two with elements like the modern surface materials and traditional details like the crown moulding and cabinetry.
The new Pavilion is the heart of the backyard and includes all of the luxuries you could want: 2 - 80" TVs, a Built-In with 23 Lineal Feet of Storage and Bookcases that coordinate with the Built-Ins inside the home, Integrated Refrigerators, Ice Maker & Trash Cans, Full Size Sink & Dishwasher, 42" Grill with Professional Ventilation Hood and even a 50" Teppanyaki Grill for the family to gather around.
The new 50' pool features an integrated spa that is on the same visual axis that runs straight through the fully pocketing glass sliding doors at the Formal Dining Room and all the way to the Front Door. The pool also features a Hydrazzo finish, integrated waterfall ledges and a 9' Baja Shelf for lounging.
This stunning outdoor space is a showstopper and craves to be entertained in. Sun Chaises for 8, Dining for 16, Lounging for at least 10 and even space for 12 around the integrated Firepit.
With a goal of keeping as many straight, clean lines and restrained color palette, we worked tirelessly to find the perfect combination of hardscape materials and furnishings. Every piece was selected for it's simplicity, but also durability since this home is paradise for a family of 6, 8 if you count the pups. Keeping everything as light and bright as possible really opens up the space and creates maximum usable space.
The color palette and guiding design concept for this structure was intended to be as close to the interior of the main house as possible. The goal was for it to feel as similar and functional, but take advantage of the newly designed outdoor amenities. The only difference was that everything had to have durable finishes that could live up in the elements. That means cabinetry finishes, all surface finishes and furniture upholstery. We created the ultimate indoor/outdoor space that is tough to leave.
