From the island to the heart of Madrid, clients were looking for a home that resonated with the serenity and charm of their homeland. The premise was clear: to adapt the existing residence G to their tastes and needs through a modest yet significant intervention. The acquisition of the adjacent residence F revealed itself as an opportunity, a blank canvas that would allow both spaces to be joined and shaped into a cozy and functional house. With a vision rooted in tradition and the evocative colors of the island, the renovation project of residences G and F emerged as an opportunity to indelibly unite both places.
The core of the renovation lies in the creation of a unique space that encompasses the living room, dining area, and kitchen, where barriers vanish and coexistence flows unobstructed. The two main bedrooms of residence G found their new home in residence F, which, facing an inner courtyard, would be the quietest rooms in the new house. Additionally, a versatile and multifunctional third bedroom transforms into a flexible refuge that, when the desire for spaciousness arises, merges with the main lounge, creating an open and light-filled area. On the other hand, a careful simplification of the layout allowed for the reduction of the original three bathrooms to two full ones, with the addition of a laundry and drying area, to achieve optimal functionality.

But soul of Mallorca could not be forgotten, even from a distance. The project conveyed the colors and materials that evoke the essence of the island. The warm palette of shades, the mosaics, the stuccos whispering of reddish earth, and the natural woods come together in harmony, painting a modest and inviting picture that transports the owners to their beloved Mallorca every time they cross the threshold of their home in Madrid.

However, the challenge of long and monotonous corridors was present. With ingenuity, efforts were made to give them a new identity and functionality. These corridors became meeting places, where a small kitchen finds its place, a shelving unit accommodates the shoes that embark on a new day, and an extra storage space sparks the imagination. Thus, monotony fades away, and the corridors transform into vibrant and purposeful passageways.

The internal distribution was carefully considered, maintaining the two original entrances to allow for future modifications and adaptations according to the changing needs of the owners. Furthermore, double circulations were created, generating a dynamic flow that awakens a sense of movement and connection between different spaces.
