Casa SaMa implements many of the concepts of sustainability and energy saving. We not only want the house to be “less harmful to the environment” but really beneficial. We want the design to improve existing conditions. So we’ve implemented a number of strategies that are part of the core idea of the house. The lot is located in the lower area of a ravine and forms part of a residential complex that overlooks a wooded federal zone.

In comparison to other nearby plots of land 47% of each is built, and we believe that the determination that these projects have taken is based on the mere idea of producing pleasant views, for us, this is simply not enough. Our project is built in 9.7% of the land, thus achieving not only a view of the trees but a house in the trees. It is contemplated that the project will produce over its construction 1.7 tons of CO2, which will be offset by only 5 new trees. And it is expected that housing during operation produces 75% of the energy it consumes. The lack of sun in this hollow represents a major challenge for obtaining solar energy.

The construction has a heat-insulating box on the main walls, which will be covered with black stone of the area to solar heat the house as possible. The dark color in the elongated facades intended to confuse volume with shady glen, while clearly mark the main entrance facades organizing the house.
