The project in question was the renovation of a house designed in the 70s by architect Marcos de Vasconcellos, in the Pampulha neighborhood in Belo Horizonte.

When inheriting the house from her father in 2010, the new owner needed to make significant changes to meet the demands of her family, a couple with three children. The main request was the integration of the kitchen/dining room with the living room, previously separated by the entrance hall. In addition to specific interventions in the intimate area (bedrooms, bathrooms and private living space), the program also included the construction of two new offices and a covered garage.

To meet the new requests, it was necessary to reverse the positioning of the entire service area with social accesses. The kitchen was positioned where the entrance hall used to be, thus communicating with the living and dining areas. The covered garage was created from the demolition of the old laundry room. The offices were built adjacent to the house's gardens, where the sauna and storage room were previously located.

The existing materials, brick and concrete, were maintained and also used in the new constructions.
