Maassluis has a beautiful and characteristic old center that was formed a long time ago by a dike (with lock) and the surrounding water. There are many buildings on this dike that have changed over the years to accommodate the required city functions. Industry is slowly disappearing, and the buildings on the dike, often homes combined with business premises, are increasingly becoming complete homes. This also applies to this beautiful building.

The clients first moved there and a thorough renovation was carried out to create a good ground floor and half the first floor. After years, the layer under the ground floor of the house has slowly been removed. Now was the ideal time to see whether a big wish, a master bedroom part on the roof of the rest of the ground floor, could be realized, while other parts of the house were renovated and made more sustainable.
